web making software
Do you know of any good web making software?

Money really isn’t an option, so if it isn’t a free download, I’m fine. But I want something really, really good, that will stop the path of most hackers. My previous site was absolutely ransacked because the program was filled with holes. I’ve learned getting cheap stuff if I want to make something that’s really enjoyable.

the software you use to make a website has nothing to do with how easy it is to be hacked.

the best hands down software to make websites is Adobe Dreamweaver.

Having a hackproof site depends on what your host does and how well you make your site and if you are using dynamic site software such as a forum or cms, etc.

Exploring the Web presents a unique, comprehensible treatment of the Web, from its foundations to cutting-edge technologies and applications. The work goes beyond a major web development by demonstrating how the Semantic Web facilitates joint interaction between human beings and machines. In a well-written, user-friendly, and systematic exposition, motivated by numerous easy-to-understand diagrams and hands-on examples, the four parts of the book examine the principles underlying web design, the technologies that support its operations, and a host of web applications. Starting with web fundamentals and XML explained in terms of objects and processes, the reader is then introduced to Web Services and its supporting standards. Later chapters are devoted to the Semantic Web: Resource Description Language (RDF), Web Ontology Language, (OWL), and the Visual Semantic Web (ViSWeb). The concluding chapters treat an array of applications, interactively intertwining theory and practice. Additional Features: Provides a comprehensive view of the Web using the expressive power of Object-Process Methodology (OPM) and its freely downloadable tool from www.ObjectProcess.org Enables readers to construct intuitive diagrams that translate to natural language in real time Covers such applications as e-commerce, biotechnology, bioinformatics, medicine, and e-government Contains a comprehensive bibliography and index Offers a wealth of supplementary enhancements and resources at the authors website: http: //ie.technion.ac.il/Home/Users/dori.phtml This work targets researchers and professionals working in web areas that affect software engineering, systems architecture, analysis and design methods, and modeling and simulation, making the book relevant to developers of various domains. Web 101: Making the Net Work for You Web 101: Making the Net Work for You
$2.5

Here, we have an introductory Internet book (indeed, an introduction to intermediate-level personal computing in a lot of ways) that's well suited to people who don't mind reading. Web 101: Making the Net Work for You is meant as a textbook for use in a classroom; so, it's also for people who don't mind spending money. Is this book accurate, thorough, and readable? Yes. Is it a good value? Not really. However, don't hesitate to buy it, if you need it for a class--you won't be disappointed. Author Wendy Lehnert assumes that her readers know next to nothing about the Internet, and proceeds to educate them largely through the "naming-of-parts" approach. This book teems with lists of terms and other textbook features, like questions and exercises at the end of each chapter. Some of the questions that are associated with the online exercises seem kind of silly ("What did you have to do to view your postcard?"), but should serve to push reluctant surfers online. Lehnert takes care to allay readers' fears about scams, viruses, and security--she explains what the hazards are and how they're best avoided. She also likes to treat the Internet as a community to be joined, instead of as a technology to be coped with. In a typical section, she explains how to shop for software by consulting expert reviews on information sites, as well as visiting software shops. --David Wall Topics covered: The Internet, for people who haven't used it much, but who are comfortable with the basics of using a PC. The author explains Web surfing, e-mail, information searches, downloadable software, and online shopping. There's also introductory coverage of publishing pages with HTML.

Industrial Applications of Semantic Web Industrial Applications of Semantic Web
$183.48

The Semantic Web, that adds a conceptual layer of machine-understandable metadata to the existing content, will make the content available for processing by intelligent software allowing automatic resource integration and providing interoperability between heterogeneous systems. The Semantic Web is now the most important influence on the development of the Web. The next generation of intelligent applications will be capable of making use of suchmetadata to perform resource discovery and integration based on its sematics. Sematic Web aims at developing a global environment on top of Web with interoperable heterogeneous applications, agents, web services, data repositories, humans, and so on. On the technology side, Web-oriented languages and technologies are being developed (e.g. RDF, OWL, OWL-S, WSMO, etc.), and the success of the Semantic Web will depend on a wide-spread industrial adoption of these technologies. Trend within worldwide activities related to Semantic Web definitely shows that the technology has emerging growth of interest both academic and industry during a relatively small time interval.

Developing Web Information Systems Developing Web Information Systems
$52.95

Developing Web Information Systems brings together traditional system development methods that have been taught for many years on information systems and computer science courses with web/e-commerce development. It is the first book to bring together IS development and the web applications in a thorough and systematic way. There is a running case study that illustrates web IS development from start to finish. The case is easy to understand (a theatre) and results in a working web application. Most, if not all, analysis and design texts fall short of making that step into software. The book draws heavily on practical experiences of web-based IS development resulting from commercial system development, so as well as appealing to students and academics, it will also interest practitioners. The coverage of data management and e-business strategy gives the book the broader scope essential for understanding IS development properly in an Internet context.

Since its early days as an information exchange tool limited to academe, researchers, and the military, the web has grown into a commerce engine that is now omnipresent in all facets of our lifes. More websites are created daily and more applications are developed to allow users to learn, research, and purchase online. As a result, web development is often rushed, which increases the risk of attacks from hackers. Furthermore, the need for secure applications has to be balanced with the need for usability, performance, and reliability. In this book, Whittaker and Andrews demonstrate how rigorous web testing can help prevent and prepare for such attacks. They point out that methodical testing must include identifying threats and attack vectors to establish and then implement the appropriate testing techniques, manual or automated.

Web Site Measurement Hacks Web Site Measurement Hacks
$19.99

In order to establish and then maintain a successful presence on the Web, designing a creative site is only half the battle. What good is an intricate Web infrastructure if you're unable to measure its effectiveness? That's why every business is desperate for feedback on their site's visitors: Who are they? Why do they visit? What information or service is most valuable to them? Unfortunately, most common Web analytics software applications are long on functionality and short on documentation. Without clear guidance on how these applications should be integrated into the greater Web strategy, these often expensive investments go underused and underappreciated. Enter Web Site Measurement Hacks, a guidebook that helps you understand your Web site visitors and how they contribute to your business's success. It helps organizations and individual operators alike make the most of their Web investment by providing tools, techniques, and strategies for measuring--and then improving--their site's usability, performance, and design. Among the many topics covered, you'll learn: definitions of commonly used terms, such as "key performance indicators" (KPIs) how to drive potential customers to action how to gather crucial marketing and customer data which features are useful and which are superfluous advanced techniques that senior Web site analysts use on a daily basis By examining how real-world companies use analytics to their success, Web Site Measurement Hacks demonstrates how you, too, can accurately measure your Web site's overall effectiveness. Just as importantly, it bridges the gulf between the technical teams charged with maintaining your Web's infrastructure and the business teams charged with making management decisions. It's the technology companion that every site administrator needs.

Reifer focuses on the projects that are most difficult to get funding for: those devised to justify improvements to the way software is managed and delivered. He shows how to identify and quantify potential cost reduction, cost avoidance, improvements in time to market, and productivity enhancements. Along the way, developers learn how to justify capital investments, moving to product line architectures, migrating to e-Business technologies, or even purchasing other firms. For all developers, project managers, entrepreneurs, researchers, and others who must justify their costs or convince others to fund their projects.

Web Site Measurement Hacks Web Site Measurement Hacks

In order to establish and then maintain a successful presence on the Web, designing a creative site is only half the battle. What good is an intricate Web infrastructure if you're unable to measure its effectiveness? That's why every business is desperate for feedback on their site's visitors: Who are they? Why do they visit? What information or service is most valuable to them? Unfortunately, most common Web analytics software applications are long on functionality and short on documentation. Without clear guidance on how these applications should be integrated into the greater Web strategy, these often expensive investments go underused and underappreciated. Enter "Web Site Measurement Hacks," a guidebook that helps you understand your Web site visitors and how they contribute to your business's success. It helps organizations and individual operators alike make the most of their Web investment by providing tools, techniques, and strategies for measuring--and then improving--their site's usability, performance, and design. Among the many topics covered, you'll learn: definitions of commonly used terms, such as "key performance indicators" (KPIs) how to drive potential customers to action how to gather crucial marketing and customer data which features are useful and which are superfluous advanced techniques that senior Web site analysts use on a daily basis By examining how real-world companies use analytics to their success, "Web Site Measurement Hacks" demonstrates how you, too, can accurately measure your Web site's overall effectiveness. Just as importantly, it bridges the gulf between the technical teams charged with maintaining your Web'sinfrastructure and the business teams charged with making management decisions. It's the technology companion that every site administrator needs.
