What is Reiki?

Reiki (Ray-Key) is a Japanese word which means Universal Life Energy.

Your very existence comes from this energy. Anyone can connect in a very powerful way with this force directly and immediately with a Reiki practitioner.

It is a soothing energy; a wave length of great power which can revitalize and restore harmony. And best of all, it's available to anyone who seeks it.

Where did it come from?

Reiki was known and practiced by the Tibetans thousands of years ago. A laying-on-of-hands technique is written about in ancient manuscripts from Japan, China, India, Greece and Rome.

The methods of using Reiki were lost for centuries until Dr. Usui from Japan rediscovered this ancient healing art in the 1800's by studying the Sanskrit Buddhist Sutras and receiving the empowerment techniques on the side of a mountain in Japan after much deep meditation.

How does it work?

Reiki (energy) comes through the hands of the Reiki practitioner. By gently resting the hands on the recipient's body, a warm, gentle energy starts to flow. Many people feel the warmth immediately and relax and enjoy the session. A feeling of well-being builds throughout the Reiki session. By placing the hands on different parts of your body, a more integrated and balanced state is achieved - both physically and emotionally. When this happens you heal yourself. It is not necessary for you to believe in this process. The feeling that you get will take care of that. All that is necessary is a willingness to try it.
